"Control"

1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”

Is there something other than God and you controlling your life? How can we tell when something has taken over? When we start losing friends, family, careers, and ourselves? This would be a pretty good sign. It could be an addiction or a hopeless state of mind or a feeling of being lost. It could be depression or fear. When any of these are present in our lives, it can be easy to push God away if we are not grounded in our faith. In the case of addictions, no matter if it's drugs, alcohol, pornography, sleeping around on our spouse, or whatever, these things we have chosen ourselves. We pray for guidance and help from God and then we take no self initiative to better the situation. We expect God to just "poof" and we're healed, no doubt He could do this but we must remember, He gives us freedom to do as we choose. If He dictated every aspect of our lives, there would be no free will. He does however turn up the heat for our own good, He does put things in our lives to make us see the truth for ourselves. When He calls, it is our job to respond, it is our job to "take the hint." When we don't respond, the downward spiral to darkness continues until the END. What choices are you making? What have you said you will do but never really follow through with? Are you listening during the storm or are you ignoring? Each day that passes is a day you will never get back... Each day we choose to put off turning away from the monster that controls us is another wasted day in our limited time on earth. What matters most to you? Is it the ones you love? You are losing them... Is it your career? You will watch it disappear. Does God matter most to you? He will never leave unless you allow the monster to push Him away, unless the monster you have become pushes Him away..... Lift up your head and honor the ones you love, honor the God that loves you. Don't let another day slip away. Don't be on your death bed one day dying of regret.. Make the decision that will change you forever. Someone out there or many people out there need you and are praying for you. Be what you were meant to be, for God, for the ones you care about, and for you..
